The snow is still coming down in little flurries outside so today, I don’t think it’s really stopped since Friday afternoon. I am wrapped up warm have a cup of tea here beside me warming my hands as I take breaks in typing while I ponder…
I have turned my back on winter and the harsh cold blanket that has covered all signs of spring, well at least for today anyway, instead I am planing an Easter lunch that we are having next weekend at home with our family.
We have not had the chance to do much entertaining yet because of the renovation work we have been doing on our house, but over the last few months things have slowly come together, my husband has worked ever so hard on getting most of the big jobs done and we feel we can now open the door to our guests and welcome them with pride.
I was given this beautiful vintage china tea set a couple of years ago which has been safely stored in a box waiting to be used, it is perfect to use over Easter, the colours are so pretty, I may plan my table scape around them.
I have decide to do a roast chicken with rosemary and lemon along with some bread rolls and a salad. Iv found a recipe in my Mrs Beeton cook book (modern version) which I will be trying out. Let me know if you would like the recipe and I will post it on the blog.
Hubby and I are going to attempt to make some Gluten Free Puff Pastry which can be filled with pesto, roast vegetables and mozzarella. My sister and I have a gluten and wheat intolerance, party food is always a nightmare for us, so I have everything crossed that they are a success. I will let you know how we get on and off cause if they turn out well I shall post the recipe here. We have never made pastry, let alone gluten free, so it may be a disaster. Watch this space!
