A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor

Sometimes when life is tough, it is wise to take a step back and evaluate what you have and what you are truly grateful for.

After a few days of feeling slightly on edge, I have readjusted my thoughts and I am currently taking stock of what is good in my life right now. I am blessed to have a wonderful and loving husband whom I have shared half a life time of experiences with, a strong and well connected family and faith that is helping me through a time in my life that is a bit stressful. Whilst I have a little niggle in the back of my mind and a few creases that need ironing out, so to speak, I am most grateful for the life my husband and I have found ourselves in.

I am truly blessed to have met so many wonderful and inspiring people. I was recently left a message that I found really thought provoking:

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor”

Whilst tough times test us, they also prepare us for life, they build and strengthen our characters. An image of a sunset seems like a fitting metaphor for the situation I find myself in at the moment, I am full aware that after the sun has set on the day it will rise on the next and once again my world will be bright.

I will leave you here with these images and will be back shortly when my creative energy returns.

Best regards, Laura xxx

Such a lovely set of photos and even lovelier words my dear. Hope you are doing ok. I can sympathise alot with what you have said, my favourite quote at the moment is "She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her away, she readjusted her sails" (Elizabeth Edwards) I chant it in my head if I am having a bad day and is especially effective when it coincides on a very windy day! Keep adjusting those sails babe! xxxx
