National Picnic Week – Inspiration

It’s National Picnic Week this week and what a sunny week it’s been so far, perfect for an impromptu picnic in the garden or in a local park. I thought I would share some of my picnic inspiration with you.

Along with the good food and good company, my perfect picnic would include blankets and cushions  to create a comfortable spot to relax right into the late afternoon. Jam jars and straws make cute containers to carry drinks and I love the idea of wrapping sandwiches in brown paper tied up with bakers twine.

I’d love to hear about your favourite picnic essentials.

I do love a proper picnic with china and glassware! My picnic essentials are home-made lemonade and a pressed sandwich crammed full of cured meats and garlicky artichokes.
