For this project you will need:
STEP ONE: Cut out 16 squares of tweed.
STEP TWO: Sew the squares together to make up four rows of four, then press the seams before sewing the four rows together. STEP THREE: Sew the linen edging to the patchwork – sew the two shorter edges to the left and right side of the patchwork, then sew the longer strips to the top and bottom.STEP FOUR: Layer your patchwork on top of the quilting fabric and quilt into the squares, I have only chosen to do this on a couple but you could quilt diamonds into each. I have also quilted a border around the linen to frame the patchwork.STEP FIVE: For the back, cut the linen into two pieces, hem the new edges, this will create the opening in which to insert the cushion pad.STEP SIX: To make up the cushion lay the patchwork face up, on top lay the two back panels, they should over lap in the middle where the cushion pad will be inserted. Finally sew around all four outer edges and turn inside out.
