We went for a walk across the fields at the weekend and sat a while amongst the long grass whilst the sun popped in and out of the clouds. I do love adventures like this together as a family, time spent away from the business of the everyday, breathing in fresh air (thank goodness my bout of hayfever is over for another year) and hunting for treasures – we collected leaves to recreate a little woodland scene back at home.
Arthur is still a little wobbly on his feet and kept tripping over and landing on thistles which lead to tears, oh the tears, and his little hands reaching up to me calling ‘mama mama’ I lifted him up onto my hip and carried him awhile. I treasure each and every moment those little hands reach up to me for love and reassurance . When we reached the soft grass he was brave enough to go exploring with daddy close by whilst I captured the moment both in my heart and with my camera.
We are so lucky to have fields to explore right on our doorstep, each time we visit they look and feel different, I love the perspective open space gives you. I was surprised at how faded the landscape looked in comparison to the pictures I shared here just a little while ago, a reminder of time moving ever forward, I think that is why I love to capture little moments and document them so I can look back on in years to come and remember with vivid colour.
