The house is quiet and the sun is filtering in through the window, I’m sitting with my journal and my morning coffee whilst the little one naps thinking about the month as it has played out. As usual time is passing with great speed and this month has been particularly busy, it’s nice to take this quiet time to reflect on the weeks gone by, to take stock and to look forward to the season ahead, it is what I love most about these Styling the Seasons projects. Life gets so busy, racing through the housework, playing games – oh how we love to play, fitting in the food shop along with everything else, so it’s nice to take time just for me – to let my mind be free, to allow mindfulness and creativity to flourish even if it is just thirty minutes here and there.
The bluebells along our driveway are also flourishing in abundance at the moment, it’s the prettiest thing. We are in the midst of transforming our forgotten about garden, which is currently not up to much, so it’s a very welcome sign to see nature taking care of itself. I have gathered a bunch along with some muscari and put them in small glass jars tied with scraps of faded floral fabric and my favourite little pitcher jug. It is a simple gesture but one that makes me smile. I have also included fabric covered storage boxes filled with my treasures and magazine cuttings, the little ceramic dish I made at last summers Good Life Experience and my favourite candle.
